Change Your Life Ministries/Sober Living Environment in Chicago, IL offers comprehensive recovery support for women in a structured and nurturing environment. We place an emphasis on the Social Model of Recovery; a concept that allows individuals to take ownership of their unique recovery process.
Our services help women reach the height of their potential and empower them to be responsible for their own actions. Our vision is focused on women becoming self-supporting and productive members of society.

About Our Program
Our program is tailored with individual service plans; therefore, there is no set time to reside at our facility. The Alumni ladies all agree that our Spirituality and Meditation Groups are our featured highlights, and these groups have helped them to continue with a solid foundation in their recovery process. Mission Statement
Our goal is to provide professional services and helpful resources that will allow women to become free from continuous cycles of domestic violence, recidivism, homelessness, and chemical dependency.
With our well-rounded programs and the support of our caring staff, we aim to empower individuals to be responsible for their own actions through education, as well as through the development of coping skills and self-worth.
About Our Executive Director
Octavia Rivers has a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and is certified as an Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC), Mental Illness/Substance Abuse Counselor (MISA-1), and National Certified Recovery Specialist (NCRS). She currently has completed courses toward her graduate degree in nonprofit management.
The board members all have a master’s degree and certifications that enable them to assist in the curriculum. They all share the vision and mission of Change Your Life Ministries/Sober Living Environment. Their input specializes in the services rendered and fundraising events. Every summer, Change Your Life Ministries/Sober Living Environment sponsors an event that includes the residents, families, friends, and the community.

Attire for Hire Cause:
This year-round cause is strictly to allow women to beautify themselves and increase their self-esteem as they seek employment, training programs, and to further their education.
Some of the items needed include: bus cards, clothes, shoes, personal items, hair maintenance, uniforms, school supplies, laptops, computers, etc.
